Sarah is Director of Governance, Risk and Assurance at Greater Manchester Combined Authority. She has extensive experience of leading Internal Audit, Risk and Assurance teams in the public sector, including local government, transport and emergency services. She has experience in establishing and integrating teams and working with cosource partners and thrives in making sure risk, audit and assurance work is seen as progressive, pragmatic and bringing real value to an organisation. 

Prior to moving to the public sector, she worked for more than 20 years in a big 4 professional services organisation, in roles spanning private and public sector assurance and advisory work, as well as a significant secondment into the learning and education team which allowed her to develop a complementary set of skills that she is able to draw upon. 

She is currently as a Trustee and Chair of Audit and Risk Committee for TLP and has previous audit committee experience in a further education setting as well as previous voluntary role as a director of a preschool setting. 

Sarah lives in Poynton and has 2 children who attend one of the TLP academies.
